France has handed down the first two fines under its pointless 'ban the burka' law, imposing 150 Euro (£130) fines on two women who wore the veil in Paris.
Kenza Drider and Hind Amas became the first to be fined and, no surprise here, both have already announced that they intend to appeal all the way to the European Court of Human Rights if necessary.
It may take a while, but there's little doubt they will win - and that the costs imposed on the French taxpayer will be enormous.
The chances of the ban surviving the European Court of Human Rights have to be slim to zero, but by the time it gets there a few politicians will have grabbed headlines and can pretend they're doing something about Islam.
They haven't and they aren't, the burka ban is like tieing a pretty ribbon to an atom bomb just as it is dropped and calling it a victory for peace.
Interestingly, Kenza Drider, of Moroccan origin, who is an activist in the campaign against the ban, has announced her intention to run for president in protest against the law prohibiting the veil.
As we predicted a long time back, banning the burka will do nothing to prevent the Islamification of Western nations, it is purely a cosmetic ban aimed at removing one of the most visible manifestations of colonisation.
Worse yet, it will be a huge propaganda coup for an Islam which is spectacularly adept at using the systems and the freedoms of the West - when it suits them of course.
International publicity as court cases are pursued, and now the possible spectacle of a presidential candidate being arrested (again) for wearing the veil.
Or, the flipside, a candidate who will flout the burka ban with impunity at every media appearance in a challenge to the police to arrest her.
Martyr or sterling example of a Muslim resisting the evil and oppressive West who are powerless to act - Islam can't lose on that one, only France and the rest of the West can.
Islam will do as it likes, it knows it can do just that, and the law of the land or the feeling of the locals be damned. The entire system all but ensures it will be thus.
No law will force Islam to integrate with the West, rather it will be the West continually forced to accommodate, and integrate with, Islam.
Whilst the West busily passes laws such as the burka ban, laws which are flawed and self defeating in so many ways, and insists on the fools gold of integration, Islam is busily doing what it does best - turning everything it touches in to Islam.
