Dissappear from the world map.......it was Maldives Goverment anxious about would happened in the near future to their 2.000 islands in archipelago nation in Southwest of India, in Indian ocean. To make it more serious, they attracted world attention, last October 17, 2009 by an amazing event that never occured before in world hystory. They held a special minister meeting underwater, see photo, to shaw the world how seriousness bussiness of Global warming effects was.
The anxiousness of Maldives nation rose, since the pole ice, the land of eskimos, pinguins homeland, lately without paid a serious attention whatsoever, day by day, season by season gradually melted, sinking, dissapreared and elevated sea level everywhere and in the near future Maldives islands would dissapear as well.We may find out where the Maldives archipelago resided in the world map, but in reality not existed any longer. The State vanished, gone with the wind since the islands level a little bit higher than sea level that had been elevated by ice melted in the pole.
Look at this pole bear climbed up over a remaining tini ice, no more other slice iced to hold on any longer before sinking under the water. Her home and ground ice that spread in the pole melted and gone by warming climate produced by industrialization, deforestation and careless of civilization
Remembered when Global warming meeting held in Bali island, Indonesia, few yeras ago, Al Gore, an ex US Vice President blamed his own country, USA, the one country as the largest contributor to the Global warming. His Goverment try to buying time, hesitated, ignorant to sign up The Kyoto protocol. The Bali agreement, had pushed all countries tied up, signed to reduce the emision scheduled gradually.
That is why Nobel peace prize granted to Al Gore on his role in Bali meeting and decided Road map of emision reduction beyond year 2012 as a binding target.
In micro enviroment, in my small community, our Church, Gereja Kristen Indonesia, Kwitang, Jakarta congregation paid a contribution - small maybe - to waking up our members to aware, support and involved in their own, small enviroment to participate in any Global warming movement by planting trees, gargabe management, reducing gas emission, energy shaving and related movement.
"I was wondered that Church had paid serious attention to Global warming", a high official , Vice village head West Cempaka Putih Village in Central Jakarta, when I witnessed the instalation of 100 Biopory holes aound By pass interchange, across Cempaka Mas Shopping center, Central Jakarta.
Not only installed Biopory holes in one area, but also to all, 8 Posts, small churches in Jakarta and surrounding by planting trees, garbage management, drainage clearing by financed them Rp. 3 millions each Post or US$ 300. This movement done together with local authorities to saw the people around the Posts how important to involved in anti Global warming.

I was so surprise to heard his comments, similar with statement from Municipality, Vice Mayor said :" Thank you to friends from Church that participated in Free car day", he said in a big meeting one day in Central Jakarta Office municipality, Tanah Abang. He welcome our little effort by instalation 100 biopory holes in Central Jakarta. Free car day happened as the same day in Easteri in April 14, 2009. Vice Mayor close his speech saying :" Send my regards to all friend from the Church". Not long after the Car free day, we got a certificate of appreciation signed by Central Jakarta mayor.
Once in 2009 when I drove a taxy to the North Jakarta, the driver told that in certain area, the road always flooding because sea level rose that 10 years before its never happened, as an evidence of Global warming effect.
