Alhaji Umaru Mutallab, a Nigerian banker called US Embassy in Nigeria to reported, concerning of his son 's radical belief and extremist connection. Then, last month his son's name Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 23 was added to the terrorism related database, Washington Post. Eventhough the father had been alerted US authorities, his son even was allowed to fly to US soil. Someone wasn't paing attention, Washington Post December 27, 2009 reported.

He claiming to be an agent for Al-Qaeda who tries to blow up a Nortwest Airlines flight 253 from Schipol, Amsterdam carring 278 passengers 20 minutes before landing in Detroit. Fortunately cabin crew and a brave passanger named Jasper Schuringa subdued and isolated suspected terorist. To make sure no more bomb in his body, Jasper strip off terrorist clotches and then the crews had him handcuffed. The other passangers dragged the suicide bomber to the front aisle.
Northwest airline was a subsidiary of Delta airlines.                                                                        


Jasper, Dutch citizen claims that passengers heard a loud popping sound, a flamish light and from the high explosive bomb's components who had failed to exploded. People around the area began to panic. Jasper instantly jumped, pulled the object between Umar's legs and tried to extinguished the fire with his hand cause a pretty burned.

The other passangers pulled the alleged terrorist out of his chair and dragged to the floor and took hi in front row seat. The fire was extiguished and Umar was handcuffed while Jasper was applauded for his braveness.

New York Post write that the man had an explosive powder strapped to his leg wich he tried to ignite by injecting chemical with a syringe. Passengers knew something was very wrong when they saw flight attendances running for fire exhtinguishers. An in-flight emergency was declare when a fire indicator light went on in the cockpit.

According to ABC News source, the man claimed he was directed by Al Qaeda to set off an explosion on the plane, wich he aquired in Yemen with instruction when it should be used.


Umar who had studied engineering in University College London was granted 2 years tourist visa from US Embassy in London in June 2008 which he used to travel  to United States at least twice.

He fly from Lagos, Nigeria through Schipol Airport Amsterdam, one is the most heavily secure air facilities in the world, that didn't raise any red flag during screening before Umar boarding the aircraft on the way to Detroit in Christmas mid morning, Dec 25, 2009.

President Obama summoned all high Security officials to take a more tight security measures, especially in traveling by the air to US soil and remind them what had happened to September elevent that Bush administration set a war against the terrorism up until today.
