As Britains 'Asian' child grooming epidemic continues, 4 men have appeared in court in Burnley charged in connection with the rape of two 14 year old girls, and that may well just be the tip of the iceberg in this case.
Shiraz Afzal, 24, Omar Mazafer, 21, and Mohammed suleman Farooq, were all charged with conspiracy to rape a child.
Waqas Khalid, 18, was charged with intimidating a witness.
Khalid was bailed until December, and the other three men were remanded in custody to appear in Burnley Crown Court next month.
Afzal has previously been charged with inciting a girl aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity.
Another man, Mohammed Imran Amjad, has been charged with facilitating the commission of a child sex offence and child abduction.
The men were detained as part of a ongoing enquiry into child exploitation, and police are investigating reports that an address was used to ply a number of vulnerable children with drink and drugs before they were sexually abused.
Police believe that at least 8 men were involved in a series of offences against a number of young girls, and have been investigating for 12 months.
