According to data from the UK Borders Agency approximately 150 of the 2,800 people detained in the aftermath of the riots which ravaged British cities are foreign nationals.

Of course this has prompted the usual tough talking from Immigration Minister Damian Green, who has said that "We strongly believe that foreign national lawbreakers should be removed from the UK at the earliest opportunity"

Good luck with that, we won't hold our breath waiting on more than a dozen of those to be kicked out. Talking tough is easy, carrying it out is a whole different matter.

Here come the appeals - at our expense - under human rights laws, judges supporting the rights of those poor rioters to a family life, and us not throwing them out because they might face a little hardship or their life may be at risk back in their own country.

What about the risk to British lives when these people rioted, burnt down property, and brought open warfare to our streets?

Those won't be taken into consideration, they never are, our rights and safeties don't matter that much.

A system with some sanity might consider that these people gave up their right to remain here, and to enjoy our protections, when they turned upon our nation and left our cities in flame.

It's a shame we've no sanity here though, slavishly adhering to human rights dogma and ensuring that people who have no respect for the rights or safety of others will remain in Britain.
