Two men, thought to be from Cardiff, have been arrested in Kenya over allegations that they are linked to Islamic terror group al Shabaab.
The pair, both described as 'British citizens', were held close to the border with Somalia.
At the time of their arrest they were with a Kenyan national, and local police have said that they were trying to make it into Somalia.
"We suspect that they are coordinating the activities of al Shabaab or maybe they were passing on information to these people" said a Nigerian police spokesman.
"South Wales Police are currently in liaison with the Kenyan authorities in respect of two British nationals who have been detained near to the border with Somalia" said a spokesman for South Wales Police.
"British citizens" journeying abroad to join up with Islamic jihadi groups is becoming an increasingly common event in this wonderfully enriched society of ours.
Numerous reports have spoken of British regional accents turning up on rebel transmissions in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as numerous people resident in Britain heading abroad to participate in terrorist training.
It is no myth that so many roads to Jihad seem to cross Britain at some point, we have fast become the jihadi capital of the West.
Should it be proven that these men - or any others - were seeking to link up with an Islamic militant group like al Shabaab, which has been linked to numerous kidnaps and murders, then why should Britain take them back?
