Two men have been jailed for 3 years each and told that they are likely to be deported to Bangladesh after serving their sentences, after grooming a 13 year old Swansea schoolgirl online and subsequently meeting up to have sex with her.

Ashiqur Rahman, 26, of Swansea had sex with the girl a number of times when she was 13 and 14 after meeting her on Facebook.

Junaid Hussain, 32, travelled from London to meet the girl, and had sex with her when she was 14.

Hussain met the girl at a bus stop while she was still in her school uniform, and later took her to a hotel. She was 14 at the time.

Both defendants had unprotected sex with the girl.

At Swansea Crown Court Rahman entered guilty pleas to 5 counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child.

Hussain pleaded guilty to meeting a child following sexual grooming and engaging in sexual activity with a child.

Both men had attempted to blame the victim, saying that she had lied about their age, and had put them under pressure or was very keen to have sex with them.

Hussain and Rahman are originally from Bangladesh, and Judge Keith Thomas said that "These sentences should result in your deportation when you become liable for release".

An expert from Swansea University, Sian Rees, has warned in response to the case that children need educating in the "dangers inherent in the internet".

Agreed, but the public at large also need educating as to the terrifying scale of foreign origin grooming, child abuse, and sexual offences which plague modern Britain.

Prevention should begin at the border, there are a whole host of offenders who should never have been here to begin with.

Of course foreigners aren't the only perverts, we have enough of our own, but is that any reason to import more?
