Bath Liberal Democrat Councillor Roger Symonds has branded a local resident 'childish' for questioning the Liberal Democrats U-Turn on the Wellsway bus lane.
Councillor Symonds, Bath and North East Somerset Council's cabinet member for transport, was scathing in his response to an email to local opponent of the bus lane plans Ian Oxford, responding that :
"I have to say that your comments are very unhelpful. This is the first that I have heard of this issue and I have asked officers for clarification.
"This is part of my job, but I do not have to read or listen to childish political points-scoring such as your comment 'is this another broken Liberal Democrat promise?'"
Two Liberal Democrats, Councillor David Bellotti, and Councillor Katie Hall, had campaigned during the election on a platform opposing the bus lane, but once in power in the region the Liberal Democrats had carried on the development.
