Jobs are a national resource, and should be considered as such.

They are finite in number at any given time, we do not have an unlimited supply, why give them away?

If we found, for sake of argument, a huge diamond mine in England, we'd not just trumpet it on the news and invite the entire world to turn up and see if they could grab a stone.

Come on, help yourselves, it's a free for all!

Why should jobs be any different?

Indeed, we opened by saying jobs are a national resource, and they are, but there is an even more important national resource of higher priority - people, the British people.

By encouraging a jobs free for all in Britain, by giving away our national resource, we betray the British people.

We should use this national resource of jobs for the benefit of the only national resource which really matters, namely people.

Just a few random ideas (deliberately kept simple) in the light of todays hideous unemployment figures as to how we can nurture this resource, create more, and use it in service of the British people.

End immigration. It is clear that we lack the necessary resources - in this instance jobs - to support additional people entering our population.

Prioritise British people for British jobs. Jobs are a resource, and it is only rightful that this national resource should be used for the benefit of our nation.

Train British people for the jobs available in Britain. Skills shortage be damned, if such a thing exists then we have the people, they want the skills, we should deliver on that.

Tax foreign labour, or the companies who use it. The lower wages which are the knock on result of a huge (mainly imported) surplus in the labour market make existence more difficult for the British worker, and leaves them competing on an uneven playing field.

End foreign aid. That money could be used on creating additional jobs. Town and city renewal projects if you like, instead of languishing on benefits we could hand a decent wage to our people to improve our country. The possibilities are endless, and that money would end up going back into our economy.

Withdraw from the EU. Free movement of labour benefits some nations more than others. The British worker is a huge loser in the whole sorry affair, and loses on every single front.

End British state benefits for foreign labour. Why should the British worker pay tax to support their foreign competitors who come to this country in search of British jobs?

Finally, make the use of illegal foreign labour into a crime, not punishable by a measly fine, but a true deterrent like a prison sentence.

There, just a few thoughts, there are many more that could be added.

Jobs are a national resource, we should be cultivating them and using them for the benefit of our nation, not creating a free for all the world where this precious resource is squandered much to the detriment of the British worker.

Unemployment has reached its highest level in nearly two decades as 114,000 more people joined the dole queues.

In an abysmal day for Britain, youth unemployment has hit a record high of 991,000, and the number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance increased for the seventh month in a row, reaching 1.6 million.

Overall full time employment fell by 178,000 to 29.1 million, and that at a time when we're seeing an increasing population and a continuing influx of foreign workers.

Disastrous as that figure may be, it's much worse when the increasing number of people in the UK is taken into account.

Part time employment dropped 175,000 to 7.78 million people.

Those classified as economically inactive increased by 26,000 to reach 9.35 million.

Approximately 150,000 people have been made redundant in the last 3 months.

Long term unemployment - classified as those out of work for a year or more - rose by 60,000 to 867,000.

We bleed jobs, we import workers, our jobs market is a scandalous and collapsing shambles which sees the British worker disenfranchised at every turn.

ConDem had better have some damn good spin doctors if they want to get anything positive out of this news.

Even if they manage to put a good shine on it all, it's only gloss on the truth - the net result of Labour, and ConDem, is an economy in tatters and workers out of jobs.

It's another Big in Camerons Big Society, ever Bigger dole queues.

What a strange week in the world of jobs and unemployment.

On the one hand ConDem are proposing that jobseekers should prove that they've spent so many hours a day looking for work, on the other hand ConDem are also proposing that companies should reveal the numbers of foreign workers whom they employ*.

Anyone see an obvious link there?

For the easiest first, yes, some companies - far too many companies - use cheaper, foreign labour, and cloak it under the excuse of no skilled Britons, Britons are workshy, all the usual bag of make believe. Politicians allowed it to hapen though, and continue to do nothing.

But, whereas the actual numbers may make for an interesting story if true figures are revealed, what will ConDem do with it?

Are they going to order a quota of Brits must be employed with a company? Surely they could, there's precedent with equalities legislation demanding public bodies employ a given number of minority staff, and allowing them to discriminate (positively of course!) in order to reach these targets.

Will they extend that to, for example, all those food shops on the high street where you'll never, ever see a white face other than as a drunken customer?

Of course not, they'll do nothing with the figures, indeed they'll probably choose to hush them up just to hide the reality of the mass scramble for jobs which has seen the British worker disenfranchised.

It will be a pointless paper exercise, and change nothing, it will cost our money, and it will not get one more Brit into a job.

Even if they did do something like that, are they going to boot everyone out of Britain - including those EU workers who enjoy free movement of labour - or just boot them on to the dole queues?

Take your guess, what's your answer, prizes to be won. Only, not if you're British. On the one hand you'll have no jobs, on the other you'll pay for foreigners with no jobs. In fact, either way, you'll probably end up winning both those booby prizes.

Waste of time, move along, nothing to see here, more hollow and pointless shenanigans from the ConDem conspiracy.

Which, brings us to jobseekers having to put in X amount of hours a day in order to get benefits.

Is someone going to check, we've staff and money in the benefits system to do that?

Do companies keep records? I've worked a number of places where speculative CV's went in the bin, no reply sent back. For speculative phonecalls you get a polite sorry, nothing at the moment, send your CV (and read above for what happens when you do).

If companies do keep records, are they going to want to put up with random DSS spotchecks adding to their running costs?

Will we stop the benefits of anyone who cannot speak English, therefore has no chance of meeting the hours requirement since they are unable to communicate with employers on spec?

It's unworkable, and it's beside the point.

God knows how many foreign workers we have now, between legal and illegal not even the government knows, but we do have over 2 million unemployed.

British jobs for British workers, it's as simple as that.

Want to reduce unemployment? Make hiring of foreign workers uncompetitive (eg a tax on companies for using foreign labour). Impose stiff penalties for those using illegal foreign labour - such as jail sentences, not trifling civil fines from UKBA.

Train British people to do British jobs, and create a system whereby British people get priority to do British jobs.

Of course, we can't, Europe won't let us, equalities law won't let us, the human flood will continue and the British worker will become increasingly marginalised and unemployed.

And, all the while, we'll be told it's because the British worker is too workshy or too stupid.

Some may well be, but anyone believing that applies to 2 million people (less whatever of that is foreign unemployment claimants) needs their heads read.

Britain suffers from a surplus of workers and a deficit of jobs - and yet still continues to import workers!

Tackle that, or else any benefit reforms to force people to spend X hours seeking jobs are pointless, the jobs are not there, they've already been taken.

Most of Britain wants to work, those who won't should be penalised - but measures like this are idiocy when the simple fact is that many Britons are denied the chance to work by a moronic system which makes foreign labour more attractive and in plentiful supply, not to mention an education system which is broken.

It is not the unemployeds fault that the labour market is flooded with foreign workers, and that the economy is collapsing.

Why penalise them when it is the politicians, ConDem and Labour alike, who should be having their benefits stopped for not putting in the hours on what should be their primary concern, namely that of caring for Britain and the British people?

*Seems even a day is a long time in politics, looks like ConDem have already dropped the idea between it airing on Monday morning, and this article being posted Tuesday evening.

A Labour leader has finally admitted it, mass immigration drove down wages and living standards in the UK.

We knew that anyway Ed, but thanks for saying it. Labour knew it too before they opened the borders of Britain to everyone, they made a choice and decided that the consequences - to be paid by the workers of course - were worth paying.

It does raise an interesting question though, who now stands for the British worker.

Traditionally it was Labour, at least on paper, but somewhere along the line they abandoned all that in favour of a let em all in, immigration and diversity is great, we must meet minority quotas approach.

Do they stand for the British worker? Of course not, his wages are lower now, living standards are lower, he'll not even make the shortlist for some jobs because of the overwhelming need to fill diversity quotas. Labour may manage a sorry, we got it wrong, great, that helps us put food on the table and find a decent job.

Liberals? If it's possible they are worse than Labour, even more diversity and quota obsessed. Forget you even exist if you can't tick a few boxes on that diversity checklist, you are a non entity, your views and wellbeing does not matter a damn.

Who'd even bother arguing Tory ever stood for the working class at all?

Labour sold out the British working class, Tory never cared, Liberal doesn't even know you exist unless it comes to paying taxes unless you tick enough checkboxes on the diversity lottery of life.

We saw the last Labour government sell the British worker out utterly, busily cosying up to big business in the way of champagne socialists, all rhetoric for the masses whilst tongues were poised to lick the.....boots of big business. Not to mention mass immigration, great plan for dispossessing the British worker.

Now we've ConDem. Mass immigration continues. Cutbacks galore, how many jobs will go as a result of NHS, military, everything cutbacks? What about Bombardier, how's that for protecting British jobs?

And the madness of 'equalities' - also known as dispossession of the British working man and woman - continues under ConDem, they've subscribed to the same insanity, all of the big three parties read off of the same hymn sheet.

None of them stands for the British worker, be it a British man or woman.

It's tickbox discrimination, a white British woman may have more rights than a white British man, but her rights are out the window if there's a black African woman in the running, and it's endorsed by all of the major political parties.

Quite besides that, thanks to the mass importation of labour, every British worker loses out, labour is a commodity like any other - when there is too much available, value diminishes. Who can argue we haven't too much labour with dole queues stretching into the millions?

All of Liberal/Labour/Tory do not stand for the British worker, their histories and current policies are testament to this. Globalism, diversity, and the British worker reduced to mere commodity and pushed aside, that's all they offer.

British workers have but a single hope, and that lies in a nationalist government.

Else, the alternative is growing unemployment, lower wages, increased job competition, jobs outsourced abroad at every opportunity, and the British worker being forced out of the British job market.

Mass immigration has been a disaster for the British worker - as have the policies of Labour, Liberal, and Conservative. The British worker has been forgotten in the rush for a global and diverse jobs marketplace, and for a disparate society under the label of multiculturalism and the free movement of labour.

Some are making big money from this, you never see the leading politicians of any of the big parties have to scrape around for a few quid, but you sure see the British worker left at the roadside and paying the price.

Nationalism or the poor house, elbowed out of the British jobs market by the foreign worker and the diversity obsessed politician, is the stark choice of the British worker now.

Nobody else stands for the British worker today, it's nationalism or nothing, and God help the children of the British worker if the choice is nothing. The mess we find ourselves in today is nothing compared to what future generations will inherit.

Unemployment has shown the sharpest increase for nearly two years, climbing by 80,000 to reach 2.51 million people, according to figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The total claiming Jobskeekers Allowance increased by 20,300 to 1.58 million, whilst youth unemployment rose by 78,000 to 973,000.

The jobless rate now stands at 7.9%.

Many are predicting that the number of jobless will continue to rise over coming months.

With a typical lack of saying anything worth saying, Employment Minister Chris Grayling said of the figures that "Clearly this is a very unwelcome set of figures...Any increase in unemployment is something we really don't want to see happen".

No, we'd never have guessed that, thanks for pointing it out.

Now, how about doing something about it?

We've jobless totals climbing, cutbacks galore, and still we insist on importing hundreds of thousands of people to occupy jobs that we quite simply do not have.

How long before we hit the 3 million unemployed mark at this rate?

One thing is for certain, and that is an artificially increasing population and an employment market open for half the world to come and take British jobs is completely incompatible with reducing unemployment.

Expect unemployment to continue increasing, the coalition government to babble about migration caps and unwelcome figures whilst doing nothing, and if they ever get into power again then Labour will do nothing either.

While we keep electing the usual suspects then unemployment at unacceptable levels is something that we'd better get used to.

According to new figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) the number of Britons working in the building industry dropped last year - whilst the number of foreigners working in the industry increased.



59,000 Brits left the building trade - whereas the number of those in the trade who list their nationality as non British actually increased by 36,000.



The rise in foreigners in the building industry now means that there are 153,000 foreign nationals officially working in the industry.



Care to hazard a guess how many more foreigners are working off the books?



Brian Berry, from the Federation of Master Builders said that "Lots of foreign workers are able to undercut in terms of the hourly rate they charge".



The manufacturing sector too showed a marked increase in the number of foreign workers, whilst the number of Brits dropped.



32,000 extra foreigners were working in the manufacturing sector, whereas 29,000 Britons left the sector. There were a total of 289,000 foreigners working in the manufacturing sector.



"It is now surely undeniable that British workers are losing out to immigrant workers" said Sir Andrew Green of Migrationwatch.



The pattern is one we see repeated in industry after industry - the number of Britons employed falling, whereas the number of foreigners is increasing.



The British worker is being forced out of the British job market by a tidal wave of cheap imported labour.



Free movement of labour is destroying the bedrock upon which our nation is based, the British worker.



We have Britons stuck in the dole queue, and foreigners snapping up increasing numbers of jobs in all sectors.



Can anyone - other than the few who will see huge profits from driving down wages - honestly say that makes sense?



We do not need this huge flood of foreign labour. Britain has workers enough, and it is high time we put them first instead of throwing them into some global jobs marketplace where the playing field is anything but level.

As if we didn't already know that the jobs situation in the UK is abysmal, now we have news that there are 181,000 more people in work this summer than at the same time last year - and only 14,000 of those were born in the UK.



14,000 out of 181,000 - that adds up to a jobs bonanza for the foreign worker and Brits left languishing in the dole queue.



Since we've well over 2million unemployed then the logic of allowing a swarm of foreign workers to swamp the jobs market simply beggars belief.



It all adds up to a failure of truly epic proportions however you look at it.



Can Brits not do these jobs, we're supposed to believe that every one of these positions is a highly skilled vacancy that Brits lack the skills to do?



Come on, even if that were true then it just serves to illustrate the utter failure of the training and education system to equip our people to do our jobs. These are British jobs - if we have not equipped British people to do them then the system has failed.



But, the reality is that most will be positions for which there was a willing and able British person available - just the job went to a foreigner.



Some trot out the idea that the British worker is lazy, workshy, unwilling to put in as much effort, as a reason for hiring so many foreigners. Rubbish!.



And, incidentally, good luck in an equalities court if you say that about any other racial or national group. Say it about Africans, go on, I dare you.



Foreign labour keeps wages artificially low, it meets diversity quotas, it adheres to the insane ideal of absolutely free movement of labour - and it does not benefit Britain or the British worker in any way at all.



Instead it disenfranchises the British worker both financially and in terms of job security. The British worker becomes reduced to a commodity - only instead of a commodity in a national workplace, he's now a commodity in an international workplace, competing against nearly everyone on the planet.



We all know simple supply and demand - when supply outstrips demand a products marketplace value is reduced. The jobs market is no different, and supply of a product - in this instance workers - has been artificially boosted far beyond any realistic demand.



The entire system as is fails the British worker and the British people utterly.



There simply are not enough jobs for the people already here - and yet we continue to import more people, creating a labour glut that is damaging to the British people.



Britons want to work and will work - we should be ensuring that they have that opportunity.



No job should go to a foreign worker when there's an unemployed Brit capable of doing it. When a Brit is not capable a Brit should be trained.



Give employers a financial incentive to hire British - it has to be cheaper than paying for millions of Brits in the dole queue.



Put the British people first for once, any need for foreign workers should only arise once all Brits who can work are employed, in short once we have 100% employment, a goal that will take a long time to reach, if ever.



The British worker forms the bedrock of our nation, our future, and our prosperity - and time and time again they are betrayed and undermined by our politicians and greedy profiteers.



It's high time we put our people and our future first - and that means putting the British worker and British jobs at the very top of the list, something which generations of establishment politicians have failed to do.
