Appearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court, Khan smirked and grinned as he was shown footage of the attacks - recorded by an appalled neighbour - during which he beat his dogs with a bar, sprayed them with a pressure hose, and kicked them repeatedly.
The defence argued that Khan was being treated for mental illness, and that he had shown remorse. Must be a cultural thing, most people don't smirk and smile when confronted with videos of their brutality to animals.
As well as being jailed for a paltry 18 weeks, Khan was also banned from owning animals for life after admitting to two charges of animal cruelty.
