Another three arrests for the UK Borders Agency as an intelligence led swoop on a takeaway in Martock turns up illegal workers from Bangladesh.

Officers targeted Ayshas takeaway, on the Martock Business Park, and after carrying out immigration checks it was found that three out of the four staff there had expired visas and were in the country illegally.

The three men, all from Bangladesh, were taken to Bridgwater police station and have now been placed in immigration detention pending their deportation from the UK.

As we've said on this site time and time again, the takeaway and fast food industry appears to be a magnet for illegal workers. Case after case appears to centre around the food industry.

Until penalties become more severe - the up to £10,000 per worker fine figure which is often touted is seldom given, and in many cases those fined are failing to pay up - then illegal workers will continue to find jobs within the thriving underground of cash in hand jobs at takeouts and restaurants.
