Foreign Secretary William Hague has said that there is no immediate prospect of taking back powers from the EU, even though he claims to support repatriation of powers.

"The repatriation of powers, which is something I support by the way, is not an immediate prospect because no countries are proposing widespread treaty change" Hague told the Andrew Marr Show.

In other words nothing will be done, bailouts for the Euro and European economies will continue, and Britain will remain in servitude to the European Union.

When politicians say 'no immediate prospect, but I do support it...' what they tend to mean is that they'll do nothing whilst in power, then suddenly discover a newfound committment to it around election time or whilst in opposition.

Doesn't mean they'll do a thing about it at any time, just that it's good to tell the electorate what they want to hear.

The fact is simple, and it is that under Tory, Liberal, or Labour, we will never see any repatriation of powers from Europe, and we will never be given a say on remaining in Europe.

They may hint at powers and changes to appease the voters, but the EU - and our involvement - is here to stay on their watch.

The best we'll get is some talk, promises to look at things 'when the time is right', and a few sops to public opinion. Nothing will really change and nothing of substance will be done.

In a move which echoes the indoctrination more commonly found in Communist states, a report by MEP Jean Maria-Cavada proposes that compulsory "European Citizenship" classes should be forced upon children.

The plans, which would see children as young as five forced to sit through lessons into how to be a good European, and compelled to endure propaganda lessons in the benefits of the EU, bring sinister echoes of bygone times when youth were brainwashed into creating political change.

In the report it is suggested that European schools are promoted in Britain, and that we "encourage the emergence of European citizenship from a very young age".

As well as this, EU member states are asked to include teaching in their national syllabuses.

Of course, one doubts there will be warts and all lessons on the EU - kids will be subjected to a one side hymn of praise for the sprawling, corrupt superstate with the idea of brainwashing children to grow up supporting it.

With many adults already wising up to distinctly undemocratic and maniacally meddlesome nature of the EU, the plan smacks a little of desperation, a bid to capture the young before they know any better.

The sprawling monolith which is the EU, teetering as it is in the light of numerous recent problems such as the member nation debt crisis, seeks to dig its tentacles into every walk of life and national existence.

It will not balk at attempting to indoctrinate our children to become future generations of good little Europhiles, their opinions moulded from the moment they walk into the schoolyard.

Schools have already become places too much about indoctrination what with all the equalities and racism dogma hammered into kids, without them also becoming academies of propaganda for the European nightmare.

We've warned of it time and time again, now it seems that the Lords have woken up to the danger posed by foreign nurses and NHS staff who cannot speak proper English.

Stating the obvious, Lord Winston said that "...communication between the patient and the professional is of vital importance....We run the risk of losing it with this issue of nurses who can’t speak the English language.

We all knew that, it's common sense, how do you communicate medical details to someone who can only manage broken English?

How many times is something lost in translation and the patient suffers?

What effect does it have on a patients confidence that they'll receive good treatment when they can't even have a conversation in English with the nurses?

How is it assured that a foreign nurse or doctor meets the same professional standards demanded of a British qualified doctor or nurse?

According to Lord Winston they have been trained in a "completely different way" to British nurses, something that really doesn't fill one with confidence.

Communication is key to ensuring that the right medical care is delivered, it's as simple as that.

The strict laws imposed upon us by the EU concerning free movement of labour as good as guarantee that patient care will suffer and that lives will be put at risk.

We hear a lot about the free movement of labour, but today we learn another reality, that with the EU also comes free movement of crime - the number of EU citizens convicted of crimes in Britain has all but trebled in the space of several years.

From 10,736 EU nationals convicted of crimes in 2007, we hit 27,563 in 2010. This year already looks on course to exceed that by many thousands.

Even worse, we're also failing to remove them from the country once they are convicted of crimes - 2010 saw 27,563 convictions, and a miniscule 1,480 people removed from the UK.

Topping the list of EU offenders are the those from the Eastern European states - Poland, Romania, and Lithuania.

Close on thirty thousand convictions in one year - ain't enrichment brilliant, and bear in mind that those figures are only for convictions of EU nationals, factor in those criminals from outside of the EU and the imported crimewave we stagger under is enormous.

The total number of EU citizens convicted of crimes since 2007? 109,568.

Again, bear in mind that is just convictions, we all know that many crimes are committed from which no conviction results.

Our jails are overcrowded, our police and courts system are overstretched, and we keep adding to the burden which they have to bear.

Britains enrichment, both from within and without the EU, comes at a terribly high price in crime and the costs of dealing with that crime.

Proper crime prevention should begin at our borders - and, sadly, it seems we have very little in the way of borders left, and no chance of throwing out most criminals once they are here.

Expect things to get a lot worse, the foreign crimewave will continue until we take back control of our borders.

Foreign nurses and midwives who have not been near a patient in 20 years are being registered to work in the UK - even though a British nurse or midwife with such a long time away from patients would not be allowed to work here under the same circumstances.



This two tier system is a result of EU rules on the free movement of workers, and is leading to patients lives being directly put at risk.



"We now have a situation whereby we are admitting people who literally have not been near a patient for 20 years, have done no CPD and have to be admitted to the register because they have freedom of movement and rights. Yet if they were a UK-registered nurse or midwife, they would not be allowed to continue. Indeed, they would have to do a return-to-practice course at a school of nursing or midwifery" Dickon Weir-Hughes, chief executive of the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) told a Lords sub-committee.



Cases also highlighted include a EU doctor who refused to speak to a member of the GMC over the phone because her English was too poor to have a spoken conversation, instead putting her husband on the phone and getting him to translate.



Good luck getting proper medical care if she happens to be your doctor and you need to explain your symptoms then.



The whole situation is an insane shambles which puts British patients lives at risk - and it arises as a direct result of the EU's lunatic insistence that the free movement of labour between EU states is of greater importance than any practical considerations such as language barriers or patient safety.

The already hard pressed British people could face a 1% rise in VAT - all thanks to the EU who are planning to make sure that they screw us for even more than they already get.

Currently 0.3% of VAT we pay, on just about everything we buy, goes to the EU. That's not enough for them, they'd like to see a 1.3% figure so that they can snatch every last penny from our pockets.

It's not like all of us are already broke enough already, without having to pay extra to the EU?

Current European Commission proposals would see us doing just that. 1.3% doesn't sound a lot, but notch that up figuring we pay VAT on nearly everything we buy, and that's a whole lot more British money going into the EU coffers.

Our treasury could absorb the extra costs, although that would still represent British money which is not spent on the British people, but it seems fairly unlikely.

What we'll see should these proposals be implemented is a VAT hike. We all know government. They'll pay out the extra 1% for a year, then suddenly tell us that VAT is going up from 20% to 22.5% - care to take a bet on that?

We are taxed to the hilt. We are labouring under unprecedented cutbacks, and we will end up paying more however you look at it.

We put far more money into the EU than we get out of it, at least unless you count insane human rights rulings and rampant bureaucracy as a net profit for Britain.

The EU cares not a damn for us in Britain, not beyond keeping us contributing our astoundingly high amounts of money and dreaming up new ways to get us to give even more at any rate.

0.3% on VAT just to give to the EU is already too much, and too many people are unaware that they are paying this to our unelected European masters nearly every time they spend money.

Instead of upping it to 1.3% we should just give them 0% - that's all they deserve.

Indeed, they should be paying us money, they've fleeced Britain and the British people for enough on just about every front imaginable.

It's time they gave us something back and didn't constantly ask us for more. Else, why are we having anything to do with the whole greedy bunch?

The EU, like the unholy Lib/Lab/Con trinity, do nothing but take, take, take. You get less, you give more, you're nothing but a cash cow sitting there ready to be milked. You deserve better.
