Incoming EU President Donald Tusk, of Poland, has accused leaders of Europes richest nations of hypocrisy, extolled the virtues of free movement, and sung a hymn of praise for the glory that is the EU.
"The European Union is great. It is the best place on Earth to be born and to live your life" he said.
As a beneficiary of the EU, getting back far more than in contributes, as well as seeing the benefits of hundreds of thousands of its people occupying jobs in other EU nations, the Polish EU lobby leadership would say that.
They benefit, as do many other countries - the UK, with its pathetic half in and half out stance, loses every time.
It costs us a fortune when we can ill afford it, the EU fuhrers are busy pushing to make sure that it will cost us even more - want to bet on whether gutless Dave Cameron climbs down across the board on all these things he's supposedly talking tough to Europe on? - and leaves us bound by insane legislation which has no bearing in practical reality whatsoever.
We're on the hook for huge bailouts, huge subsidies, and caught in the middle of a nightmare bureaucracy run rampant.
"Until quite recently we saw a real restriction on our sovereignty. We were truly occupied by the Soviets. It was truly an occupation. That's why for us EU integration is not a threat to the sovereignty of the member states" he went on to say.
Donald Tusk may pontificate about Poland knowing freedom, the EU is, after all, far more subtle than the Soviet occupation, but it adds up to one and the same. Dictatorship is dictatorship however it is dressed up.
Too right there is 'Euroscepticsim' - but, that term seems to have taken on a meaning like that of 'Islamophobia', just a convenient buzzword to try and imply that anyone who disagrees has no idea what they are talking about and really are very prejudiced, not to mention a little lacking in sanity or objectivity.
The whole argument actually bolsters the moronic and nation betraying stance of parties like the Conservatives. Where's our referendum? We're not getting it, just a few scraps thrown from the EU table and some stern headlines to try and create the impression that we have any clout in Europe whatsoever and to hide the fact that our politicians have tied us with ropes around the throat to the EU ideal.
We haven't, it's time we gave up on pretending that we have. The EU has become a vast and power crazed bureaucracy with a life of its own and no grounding in the day to day realities of many of its members.
Nations such as Poland will of course extol its benefits, as will the handful of Euro crazed ideologues in richer nations, but the reality on the ground is that the EU encroaches upon the sovereignty of all of its members, represents a wasteful drain on national resources, and is ultimately not accountable to the people of any member nation in any way, shape, or form.
Poland may have got rid of the Soviet era - but, welcome to the new boss, same as the old, only it has a flag which is blue instead of red, and the dictating is done in an altogether more subtle way using treaties instead of tanks.
Donald Tusk refers to nations that want to give as little to Europe as possible - but, not shockingly considering the benefits which Poland reaps, makes no mention of those nations who are taking out everything that they can get.
Some people do benefit from the EU - for now, although they may well find themselves revising that opinion in a decade or two - but those reaping the rewards most certainly aren't you, me, or Britain.
Britain wants out now, we're sick of every insanity which the EU inflicts upon us, we want our country back, but our politicians refuse to give us a say. Tell us how that is any different to Soviet era Poland?
