"A technical fault is affecting DFID's telephone system.

(Click the image, it's the Department for International Development (DFID) posting that as an update. They don't do many updates lately - amazing they've not much to say despite that huge budget and all the countries they spend our money in)
But, scrub that last paragraph.
If you are a member of the public, a taxpayer, a voter, concerned at how ConDem have pledged your money to increasing foreign aid year on year, or at how Labour too would throw your money away, don't bother contacting us about that.
All of the big three parties will continue to spend your money in every nation on earth, and all you'll get at home is cutbacks and some smug politician telling you how you've helped some of the worlds poorest people - some of whom can afford space programmes for example.
There's definitely a technical fault, only it goes a bit deeper than just a problem with the telephone system, it's a far bigger fault than that.
There is most assuredly a major technical fault somewhere along the line when we're spending an ever increasing fortune on foreign aid, but we're getting told that there is no money left for Britain.
At least repairing the telephone lines at the DFID will be easier than repairing our foreign aid insanity, those phone engineers do a better job of fixing things than our politicians do.
